How the fuck is someone posting about shutting down the US government and having secret meetings with foreign and domestic enemies of the US keeping his huge government contracts to run our satellites and space program. Seems—what is the word?—bad.

Musk was to be the cutout and fixer, doing what the president cannot legally do. Of course he is going to enrich himself further and I can only hope that he screws Trump in the process, because I need SOMETHING to look forward to.
Centralized democratic government is the means by which the populace can exercise greater power than the private wealth of the aristocracy. After 235 years, the United States simply no longer has that. Democracy is over.
Guess that’s what happens in a country where one human can get rich enough to buy himself a presidency and there’s no real mechanism in place to stop him other than voters who are asleep at the wheel.
I'd love to see some litigation on this, but from my understanding, SpaceX has isolated him enough from the process that they can colorably argue that their bid is independent. Is that true? Probably not, but there's enough there that a favoritism claim isn't a sure victory.
Much like they blew the chance to hold Trump accountable for his numerous crimes, the Dems also missed the chance to punitively tax billionaires into the ground and - with regards to Musk specifically - nuke his contracts with the government which are the load bearing walls for his wealth.
Fear caused this whole mess since that orange tinted Frumpo first began running before 2016.
Fear mongering works and it worked for them and now things are a big mess and they love it and welcome it and hug it like a poor, innocent flag on a stage.
If the Democrats were smart (sigh) they’d taunt Trump over Musk being in charge relentlessly until he gets pissed at Musk for stealing his thunder and kicks him out
And if you'd like to speak to someone within your local city administration you need to make an official appointment during office times to set up a meeting under strict conditions.

The WSJ reported... that SpaceX lawyers recommended that the company's leadership not pursue a higher security clearance for Musk because he would have been asked about contacts with foreign officials as well as his prior drug use.
shhh let him cook, fall out with Trump, commit unignorable crimes that would be tried as treason in other countries, then watch the next administration seize his assets and perform the world's first ballistic deportation, right back to South Africa.
The people Truump protected stayed out of jail, but there's no way Musk is staying in his favour for four whole years. Musk's partners and kids can't even stand him, he's gone within 18mo.
We didn’t even pretend to elect this guy. Biden should Luigi him. He’s a national security risk and SCOTUS ruled nothing the president does is illegal.
The incoming Trump administration is going to be a kleptocratic regime of the highest order, and probably steal more money from the U.S. Treasury and private entities than all the prior presidential administrations combined.
Elon Musk, the selfless hero of our time—geofencing Starlink in Crimea to “keep the peace,” funding Trump rallies out of pure altruism, and bravely adopting an “anti-woke” stance, all apparently inspired by a deeply empathetic estrangement from his transgender daughter. Such a role model!
But on the plus side, the White House had a nice holiday party this week and several of the big accounts from here were in attendance. Priorities, man. Eat your cake. 🍰

But because I'm inarticulate, I'd appreciate it if anyone could explain how it would be bad for Americans if that happened to Musk.
Because I'm sure it would be. Somehow.
I heartily invite anyone to explain to me why SpaceX would fail to continue to perform good work without him at the wheel.
Or why it would be bad if Twitter or Telsa failed even if he did.
💩. America is failing,
It’s really REALLY bad, & Biden’s simply handing the keys to the lot of them.
Didn’t Joe take an oath to protect the USA? I don’t feel very protected at all.

I can't wait when Senile Trump has a moment of clarity and decides Elon has offended him and he's got to go.

People might respond differently if they realize we need to get our democracy back rather than save it.
If he gave a shit, that is.
Might be nice to fucking hear from him.
