He doesn't avoid eye contact. You can see Punk look right at him.
I'm not defending Punk in like, the grand scheme of things, I'm just saying it looks like this kid wasn't supposed to come up to him like that and security did what people are accusing Punk of doing.
Kid runs up and grabs his hand, Punk looks down, does the motion that you learn in any self defense class to avoid being grabbed by the hand, then uses a few fingers to gently push the kid back (with help from the guard) - then looks back up and keeps walking. This is what happens.
People see what they want to see, I guess. - But, yeah...at the VERY best, Punk watched the kid get shoved away and didn't say "Hey...he's alright. What's your name, buddy?" - At worst (and literally what happened)...Punk shoved the kid himself while pretending that he wasn't even there.
ALSO...there are a ton of accounts from people meeting Punk before this, who say that he treats fans like absolute dogshit. So, I don't know why anyone would try so hard to convince themselves that this is outside the realm of possibility.
In all fairness, the comparison photos aren't exactly 1:1 situations nor settings. Also, public figures have a right to not want to interact with the public at every moment they're outside, regardless if the public is an adult or a kid. These moments aren't indicators of a person's true character.
