The fact that they don't teach you basic economics in highschool (taxation, investments, budgeting) as a mandatory topic, screams " let's keep the rich rich, and the poor poor".

can't remember if it was an elective. must have been? the teacher was very popular and was very good. ultimately my two takeaways were to sign forms in capital letters, and i made a php website for some sort of contest and didn't win
I don’t remember high school economics even being an option…. Though my school guidance counselor was so bad I was lead to believe I had all my math courses covered & then had to take a remote learning college course to complete high school because I found out during last semester I was short one.
Luckily didn’t have to read the Bible in school. I had a basic understanding of budgeting but I had an idealistic view of the world too. Didn’t realize a union could take a years worth of membership in 3 months. That credit cards would claim I was late paying (online payments weren’t a thing yet.)…

Starting there would help a number of people. More important than paying down or off debt.
You can not assume all paychecks/payments will be on time amongst other snafus.
