I help the local MDs read the stats in papers. They really need the whole spectrum [0,1]. 4% absolute reduction in mortality can be a BFD. They get that pretty well, but they struggle with a religious attitude toward NHST and the sacred p=0.05.

I fully agree that the whole spectrum is ultimately needed, especially for HCPs. (Don't get me started on p-values, haha!)
When I suggested starting with a quartile-level understanding, I meant it as a starting point with the public for broaching a deeper appreciation for uncertainty.
