How do you guys handle loneliness? There's only so much self-improvement I feel like I can do before just sitting in bed and staring at the ceiling seems like a better use of my time

I barely manage myself.
Often times just try to distract myself with games, YouTube, or simply just chatting or VCing with available friends and just chilling.
Having company is enough for me, even if things go quiet at times.
But I also struggle with reaching out to others, and keeping up convos.
Loneliness is usually a cycle. When you're lonely, it's harder to take steps to stop feeling lonely. Doesn't mean that it's impossible, it's just tough.
The most forward way to fight it is to reach out. Ask to be with others. Prepare for some rejection or awkwardness. Cherish the good responses.
What I try to do is to bury myself in something challenging that I really care about, either a hobby, job, chores, etc. I try not to give my mind time to feel lonely. When it inevitably happens, I try to ask someone if they'd like to hang out.
I was pondering this myself today. I think it's ok to spend more time with friends doing casual things. Find someone who you really wanna spend time with and just ask if they want to spend time together. I hate cleaning alone, but I like it with friends. It's boring to do things alone.

It's hard because your brain tells you otherwise. But if you can shift your mentality towards this, it makes life easier.

I see loneliness as a symptom of dissatisfaction.
