The tanker was a US vessel carrying jet fuel…and it was anchored! The cargo vessel that struck it came from miles away in fair weather and would have spotted it easily. If this was an accident then I’m a dutchman.
The oil tanker was at anchor. I don’t think it collided with anything. The cargo ship was the moving ship that somehow managed to not notice the much bigger oil tanker.

I’ll give you a hint, it starts with Sea & ends in Lift. It is a government agency and the fuel was for military use, but not on a British military base.

I learned a new word today... When a moving boat hits a not moving thing the special maritime legal verb 'to allide' is used ... so an allision not a collision because it is shipping. Doesn't work for land based things, it's still a collision if I drive into the gatepost 😂
