Can't read the article, but as a fan of super yachts I want to point out that better and cheaper building of yachts is one aspect, too.
Another is remote work: You can run Your company for a couple of days from a yacht
The yachts become more like houseboats, have bigger rooms, have less vibration
Not trying to win anyone over - but if You all why they become bigger, this is an important part of the answer. If people had the same amount of wealth You would still have more and bigger yachts
I wanted to say that I didn't want to win anyone over. But for the reasons stated, Yachts would have become bigger, even if the wealthy wouldn't have become wealthier
It's all about if you can afford a judge or not.
In a country that uniquely choses it judges by who they vote for
you basically can get away with anyting,
If you gotta judge or two the world is your oyster..
Those that can't afford one hit a wall every time they aim at improvement.
Have & have nots?

But if You want to change that, You can regulate a lot of stuff that is more environmentally friendly and better for crew
The EU is doing a lot of steps in that direction

The problem at the bottom of all
The Have & Have not
Very unfair Sometimes
As Technology threatens to destroy the value of work the problem grows
And that boat has now sailed.
Or was the scars of the depression and WW2 fade away
Or did we loose or religion ?
