i also frankly think a lot of you would do well to actually talk to anyone who serves in the guard or who is active duty military, because it's clear to me that these people are mostly an abstraction for you

I think this depends on many things: a state’s and Guard’s leadership, an organization’s culture, the quality of the officers overseeing the response, troops’ attitudes and awareness, their posture, and ultimately the situation on ground.
