Aki Maehara, a 71-year-old Japanese American and a Professor of Asian American History, suffered serious injuries after being struck by a racist driver while biking home in Montebello, CA. The driver shouted racial slurs and told him to “go back” before running him over and fleeing the scene.

That’s so horrific. That poor man. He seems like he’s spent his life trying to make the world a better place, and to face such serious injuries at his age, I feel so terrible for him.

There’s no place in a civilized society for racism, we all need to work hard to eradicate this the from society.
