In other PNW fires, people who kept their lawns watered, and watered down their roofs, faired better than those who kept their property dry. One person reported saving their property by keeping their sprinkler system on when they evacuated.

It’s just so tragic.
I hope everyone can rebuild, but so many landmarks lost so far. We had friends/colleagues evacuate Pasadena & we had other friends evacuate Pacific Palisade. Stay safe.

A key thing to remember is that fire does not advance in an orderly way. Rather, it often jumps as stray embers are blown by the wind. So one minute you're watching a fire line advancing toward you a mile away, and then suddenly it's behind you.

Windy: shows prevailing winds.

You are fine there in Hollywood for now! I’d say no where in the LA District is safe right now and all residents should be prepared. Things could change rapidly it takes just one spark on the wind in Griffith Park and Hollywood is gone to
