It's not intended to be a "compelling theory of change," but the identification of a basis for one. This, and Wesleyan president Michael Roth's statements, are the first clear signs of intellectual and moral leadership from the academy I've seen.

What would constitute a 'theory of change' to you?

A theory of change needs to identify reasons why the crisis is happening, why it's happening now, why it didn't happen at other times. It needs to identify pull-able levers.

There's nothing really new happening. Trump was president in 2016, for a lot of the same reasons. Let's get on with it.
