Reminder to how WB Games bought the studio who made this game, a studio who only made this game, just to be able to shoot it in the back of the head to get themselves out of a contract they made that required them to keep this game going for multiple years.

it's made me wonder how viable a freemium model is for any fighting game. I think the bulk of sales in the genre are people who want to push buttons for a couple hours, and then a dedicated few stick around after. I guess we'll see how 2XKO ends up doing

Sucks too because the game had so much potential. I feel they definitely had a hand in ruining MK1 as well. In a perfect world, some of these IPs could be sold off to original creators or that they could become independent.
