The rapes of girls by Pakistani-heritage grooming gangs and abuse of boys by Cyril Smith have a common thread: working class youngsters were repeatedly not believed, listened to or treated with respect.

We should also perhaps add to that all the young girls who historically were blamed for “getting pregnant”, as if by magic, who were then shunned by society and had their babies taken away from them.

Many MANY of these girls will have been predated on by older men and yet society punished the girls

One day history books will look back on Wes Streeting withholding healthcare from girls born trans and ruining their lives and leaving them permanently disabled in the same way. What he is doing is child abuse.

Parliament doesn't listen or treat survivors of this from the 70's with respect either.

I used to trained professionals - police, social workers, NHS staff, teachers - how to spot signs of CSE. When discussing the grooming gangs, I always emphasised the fact that the way these cases were handled was more about class than about race.

Young working class girls were dismissed as ‘chavs’, almost as though they asking for it. A police officer at a CP meeting I attended claimed an exploited child “changed boyfriends* as often as I change my knickers”. The outcomes would be very different were the victims private school girls.

The worst thing that Musk has done is to stir up millions of MAGA fanatics to pile onto a serious UK domestic issue, of which they know nothing, based purely on Musk’s lies and propaganda. Every thread on X is just full of MAGA ignorance and poison. Hopefully they will get bored in a few days.
