That wasn’t just the US though, that can be more attributed to the Allies as a whole as opposed to just the US. At least Dresden was a one-off. The US firebombed a fair number of cities if memory serves, mostly because alot of Japan’s cities were primarily made of wood aka extremely flammable.

The Allies won WW2. The Allies were already fighting before America joined the Allies. America was invaluable, but they weren't alone. I'm glad the American troops were in the Pacific because most Australian and New Zealand soldiers (ANZACS) were defending Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
