true, but this meme always reminds me of my drawing course's first assignment: draw a coin. people tried to remember what the coin looked like and drew it. after the prof said "okay, now who actually took out a coin to draw from looking at it?". no one. they said "pull out a coin, do it again".
Like, I’m glad I have the understanding that being an “eternal student” kinda comes with the territory, but seeking out feedback and ESPECIALLY mentorship makes me so nervous!!!
I’m trying to come to terms with the fact that I am needy. But I’m also pretty awesome friend. I feel like people I’m friends with know both of these facts and will hopefully put up with me asking for honest feedback or “omg does this suck” occasionally when they have bandwidth.
I mean I really like what you’ve been posting! But I’d also love to see what you did when pushed by someone you respect 🗡️. I feel like I really leveled up this year because my supervisor was really good.
Oh thanks. Yeah I feel like I got pushed alot by my director on Solar S6. It was frustrating sometimes. But I got way better. Im not thrilled with what Im posting but rn now finishing is more important. I can revise into infinity. Im aiming for legendary drawing power one step at a time!!!
Honestly I think you’re doing it! Just doing anything and finishing it is so valuable and secondarily that you feel that itch that it should be better imho means you’re on the cusp of leveling up
Thanks! I really want to push myself as far as I can go. Ive rested enough. I also want to reframe a narrative I have in my head about artists. I dont have a consistent body of work from my youth but what if I just started now.

Pfffrt. "draw" to get better at drawing, really? And why not put efforts into it too!
