If it's to the victims, it's something at least, but it's not accountability. If it's just the 346 victims, that's about $3.1M each, minus lawyer fees, miscellaneous fees, so they'll never see anything close to that number.

It is, of course, part of the corporation culture. It's usually easier to just pay the fines and lawsuits than it is to simply fix the problem. Because, again, there is little accountability. Start sending executives to jail for this sort of thing, it will stop happening with such frequency.

This is one area that's an example of both parties failing us. This is nothing new. The DOJ under Obama did this with Big Pharma in the early days of the opioid crisis. I believe it was in West Virginia.

So the poor families can't do a thing even if Boeing was found to commit fraud by submitting fraudulent documents that proved some guilt the families can't get justice.
