I used to be the manager of the Waterstones in Altrincham, and I worked in the stores in Wilmslow and Deansgate as well: the amount of books i accumulated in my 5 years there is ridiculous.
Still working my way through them now, 7 years later. I estimate I have over 700 to read, which at my current rate will take me about 12 years to read - and that’s if I don’t buy any other books…which is highly unlikely.
I’ve been very lucky to be given free books when I met lots of great authors, gone to events, and also got given books by publishers for free so I could read and then recommend to customers.
That, coupled with 50% off all books, means I acquired far too many for my collection.
