These FOFA comments are not helpful. This cut is nationwide and will affect everyone. This will all but shut down research in this country. Many scientists are starting to leave. We will fall behind the rest of the world in innovation and also cause a recession in the US.

The people in most need of help are in these heavy red places. There's a lot of blue folks there but they can't voices much due to extreme right. Disabled folks especially need help because their Ives depend on these programs existing.

The Democrats are in the minority. To change this, we have to change the minds of Republicans. UAB is Alabama’s largest employer. The congressional delegation might listen when it comes to UAB. The local news is full of what will happen if UAB loses funding.

I am a grants and contracts officer at my institution in another red state. We collaborate with institutions across the country, many with the University of Alabama.
This policy will harm patients and mass layoffs will result in catastrophic economic repercussions, especially for states like ours.

Geographical bigotry is not helpful. UAB, Childrens of Birmingham, and Marshall Flight Center would beg to differ regarding science. There are amazing people in this state just like wherever you are located.

I'm a prof at UAB- not medical side of campus, but tons of friends are in med school. The lifesaving cancer research being done by UAB cancer center will largely be halted. Vital services provided to men and women of ALL political backgrounds in rural AL clinics will be halted.

I live in Alabama and have a special needs granddaughter who benefits from research at UAB/Children's in Birmingham. My niece is a researcher looking for a new job because they no longer have access to the CDC website and their project has stalled.

Geographical bigotry is not helpful. Not every person in Alabama is the same. Just like everywhere else. Please don't label entire groups of people in a negative context. There are very good people in this state making the world a better place——just like wherever you are from.
