Continuing my journey into Hunter x Hunter. I am still unsure what to expect with it, which is a blessing and a curse. Sort of assumed this was gonna be Dragonball with Gon instead of Goku but I’m kinda stunned at how *not* present he is for like 100ish chapters. The cast is way too big. - ThreadSky

I’m caught up on One Piece and I’ve read all of DB and DBZ (and a good bit of Super before I fell off). HxH is so baffling in what it wants to be. Where it started was an adventure to become a Hunter and find Gon’s dad and then that just sort of resolves after two arcs. Much buffoonery in between.

And now it can’t even decide who the main character is because you’re introduced to so many. I’d argue it’s Killua but then he just disappears. And now Kurapika is back after almost 200 chapters. Having multiple MC’s can work, but a lot of their stories are literally pulled off the backburner.

For what it’s worth, I don’t hate it. But I really wish it’d pick an idea and stick with it. I will give props for actual meaningful character deaths though. They’re well written up to this point (I’m at Chapter 344).

Anyways Greed Island was the worst thing I’ve ever read hands down.

Chimera Ant arc was pretty cool though I REALLY wanted more focus on certain characters.
