I guess if it’s not spelling out the exact parallels to the real world, they can just blur their minds a little to filter out the ideology…?

I think thats part of it. But also, people have a tendency to assume their ideology is the common sense way of seeing things. We all do this, but to be honest, i dont understand why reactionaries have so much trouble with seeing politics in art
