GPs aren’t exactly stepping up to the plate either. Pre-Covid there was no issue getting a face to face appointment. Then during COVID they realised that they didn’t actually have to see patients (I.e. do their job).

Now a telephone appointment with a physician associate is the best you will get.

It’s because they have the freedom to run GP surgeries as private companies on taxpayers money. They decide when and how much they work, and how much they pay themselves (to them, it’s never enough). Make them all NHS employees.
