We are excited to share 71,700 new #Chlamy mutants from the CLiP2 collection pre-publication! Nearly-saturating genome coverage.
Please note: new background strain, mating type, and antibiotic resistance.

The Chlamy genome appears to be about 110 Mb
at what point will it be easier to generate mutants on demand, rather then store them ?
iirc there are some classic papers in yeast (< 1980) where you mix a large population of mutagenized cells in a fermentor or chemostat with a limiting nutrient; cells that are more efficient at using the nutrient will have a slightly faster doubling time, so after a hundred or so doulings . .
