There are excellent health law orgs out there who are happy to train people on their rights, how to appeal bad decisions and how to navigate HR departments, etc. Reach out to them, organize groups of people willing to help out with paperwork. These systems are overwhelming as hell. - ThreadSky

Make sure your state reps have an actual plan! Don't let them sit on just telling you to put pressure on Congress. Their job is to anticipate this stuff, and if you know it's coming, they do too and have no excuse. Call and ask if they have a plan for medicaid recipients losing coverage. Demand one.

I also want to be clear about something based on comments: when commercial entities who run both public and private plans set policies, those policies often impact both. In other words, fighting at your workplace can truly help someone else on a public plan, too.

The point is: organize. There are so many people who are going to get screwed by this. If every single person who was about to get hit with these cuts mobilized, they'd have a riot.

Of course we have to organize against these cuts, but let's not forget that the private insurance system (in both private and public plans) is broken on its best day. We need to get insurance *out* of health care.
