It is entirely possible that the Switch 2 is too large. It is huuuuge and actually kinda heavy, and not that comfortable to hold. Weird ergonomics miss for Nintendo

Agreed. After two weeks - > joycons sorta creeky, triggers has a wierd "blindspot" where they suddenly don't register, it's veeeery heavy, can't dual wield joycons anymore cus too big and edge digs into fingers (I have generic cis male handsπ€£) screen is not oled (question:why?) etc etc etc.
The Deck is huge but it feels more comfortable to hold because of its thickness. The switch 2 def needs a grip add-on for long term handheld gaming comfort
The big screen is nice (and 4K docked is awesome), but I feel like the earlier Switch OLED hits a sweet spot for handheld screen size and wiedly-ness. Once I get a grip for the Switch 2 I may change my mind though! These are early thoughts
I was wondering about that. The large screen seems nice, which would be good for my eyes that aren't what they were, but it seems maybe too large for its own good. I wonder if a Satisfye grip would improve ergonomics. They aren't cheap, though.
With my Switch 1 I always used two grips that docked onto each joycon. I havenβt found a good alternative for Switch 2. but that should only be a matter of time.
The Satisfye grip for my Switch has been great. It does improve ergonomics. The price was a little expensive if you get the carry case and grip, but a good investment if you play handheld mode a lot. Switch 2 is same price. I'd check out online reviews, though, to see how people like it.
I've kept my Switch docked most of the time, "handhelds" to me pretty much died with the 3DS. Any portable that requires a bag to carry isn't so "handheld".
Switch 2 seems comparable: it's another non-handheld.
Try flipping out the kickstand at different positions when holding it in your hands. The kickstand is super sturdy and can really help you get a better grip on the device. My favorite position for the kickstand is fully open.

I also was a big fan of the OG XBOX'S "Duke" controller, and recognize my opinions may be skewed.

Hat tip to @grubb.wtf for the idea.
