Years ago, over on The Bad Place. I didn't remember what specifically made me click follow, but it was almost certainly some combination of lit nerdery, knitting, dogs, and your refusal to tolerate douchebros trying to gatekeep Star Wars.
i think i followed you a few months ago when i deleted my Twt & started taking Bsky more seriously. i started following you bc i wanted to find more women in game dev & also Dishonored 2 & DOTO are very important to me :)
Never was on Twitter, but found you on BlueSky because of Destiny shortly after I joined. Followed you because you're witty, the gaming posts are informative, and Junie pics always make days better.
On Twitter, sometime during Covid (or maybe right before?), for the combination of humor, house projects, and good thoughts on writing and the vg industry. Also, pics of Junie is a nice bonus if I'm being completely honest.
I joined bsky pretty recently and have sought out fellow game/narrative designers to follow. Trying to find community during these Challenging Times™️. I really admire your work, plus we share some interests in gardening + baking!
I don't remember the post specifically, but it was forever ago on Twitter originally and it was a thread you had posted insightfully about something game design related. And also I like to follow folks in my area doing cool stuff in hopes to someday collab.
i don't remember tbh. i think we have mutual friends and you seemed cool? and you had like this cute cartoon avatar with a big hat and i love a big hat
I wish to show more support for the D2 writing team for their outstanding achievements in amazing storytelling under the worst possible project circumstances! And as i understand it, you've contributed to MANY of my personal favourite moments!
I followed you on Twitter originally because you worked on a game series I liked. Then as time passed, my reason just shifts to following you as a game dev to see random posts about games or anything really.
Particularly the read of Alucard as a crying virgin was great because it seemed funny at the time but the show was cool enough to make it real. What's the opposite of character assassination?
I think I started following you a year or two ago back when I was following a bunch of people who worked on destiny or when I just followed a bunch of people working in games last year for cool game dev insights. Probably both for reasons why.
Started on Twitter proooobably sometime during Season of the Haunted? Cuz I went "Hey this season's story fucking rules!" and sought out D2 narrative folks. I like when my feeds are filled with funny and talented people!
Sometime ago back on xitter, then refollowed you here! Reason was Destiny 2 then I stuck around for the cute chickens and dog! Plus y'know, cool human too.
Sometime a while back on Twitter after discovering you were involved in the narrative of D2. You’ve been at least partly responsible for my favorite recent storylines!
unfortunately, i only learned of you after the 2nd round of layoffs. followed u bc you're a drifteris shipper and i like having writers and artists on my feed.
You were Elon Musk Cassandra on Twitter and there was posting about that and a post with photos of mac and cheese that you referred to as a "a Cheesy Boi".
I don't recall... Maybe I followed you on Twitter? Maybe I saw my friends reposting you and your name was familiar? Or you followed me first and I followed back because you're cool? Or it was written in the stars?
I actually don't remember but I'm pretty sure it was before you were working on Dishonored because I recall hearing you'd started working on Dishonored and I was like "hell yeah"
I followed you back on Twitter but I can't remember exactly when - I think one of your monster fucker polls got reposted into a Discord server I was in and then I saw a few more of your posts get RTd into my timeline so I followed from there
I was playing through Haunted and was really captivated by the way eris talked about grief and pain, found out the writers for the season and the rest is history!
Twitter back when it was still useful, which I guess makes it a long time ago. Almost certainly some weird combination of academic stuff and writing, which overlapped with several of my past careers.
For me it was back on Twitter, it must have been some time after Season of the Haunted, when I learned you were responsible for some of the best recent story beats in Destiny at that time and I noticed you worked on Dishonored as well. But I think it was the chickens that sealed the deal!
I decided to check if the author of the best Dragon Age fanfic I’d ever read had social media, and then found out you also had incredibly Correct opinions.
Started following enough narrative designers that I saw your skeets were good. I probably also followed you on the other place. But I followed like ten times as many people in games back then.
I had no idea who you were and had never played Destiny but many of my friends told me you were cool and they turned out to be correct 🙏 can't remember when tho, time is fake
I really wish sites like this automatically tracked this somehow. Like I imagine you had gotten retweeted into my Twitter feed, the maybe I liked that post, then followed. But which post? No idea!
I think I started following just before or just after Death of the Outside and then kept following because just general game dev and then Castlevania, Castlevania and more Castlevania.
I don't remember exactly when I first followed, but I do remember you were on a podcast talking about Edith Finch I enjoyed! Think it was round about then
we became twitter mutuals at some point and DMed about that Suspiria remakea few years back and I think I raved to you about my Death of the Outsider playthrough?
Years ago on Twitter. I was a journalist trying to transfer into full time development. I think I followed someone I spoke to after a convention and you came up as a recommendation. Then I saw you worked on a Dishonored game and I was like "hell yeah"
On Twitter as a baby narrative designer. Then I had one of those "I hate it there" moments where I unfollow en masse, destroying my own network. Found you back on bsk
Actually, just recently on Bluesky - it never occurred to me on the Other place that you’re online (even if I knew you MUST be as a fandom member) and it hit me when I saw somebody reposting you in here 🤯
You were spitting fire about Cole Dragon Age and Solas being a dork! I forget the exact year but I’d imagine around 2014-15 when that game had come out
You were commenting on an immigration post and I saw the chicken in your PFP and looked at your bio and read a bit and saw you were cool and intelligent and interesting. This was a few days (weeks? what is time?) ago.
Followed you on here as soon as I realized you had an account becasue I‘d been following on twitter for years before. Back there, I probably initially discovered you via someone’s „women in games you should know about“ post ages ago
The earliest memory I have I think is "I'm gonna fuck dracula", which signaled to me you were a woman of culture and good taste, and you still haven't disappointment me since.
followed because you had interesting stuff to say about Dishonored - it was def before you wrote for death of the outsider because I remember it being really cool that your analysis had manifested that
Around 1-2 year range id say, when I started following a bunch of game related people, probably saw you talk about Destiny. I think I have a memory of the season of the Haunted (not sure abt the season name 😅) but I might have been following before
Joke answer: to one day convince you to write William Rufus slash. Real answer: I heard you on No Cartridge and said "wow. Amazing. I want to be her friend."
I started following you a few months ago? I think back on the shitter site. I followed you cause you have good takes and have written for my favorite game series.
I started following you on Twitter shortly after the last batch of lay offs. You and another user i follow, Robyn, were interacting. At which point I learned you were a writer and specifically for acts and characters I loved dearly. To show support and to stay informed, I followed. 😊
mustve been a year or so ago? i follow a lot of games industry folks for the Networking of it all, but I genuinely like your posts, particularly the jokes
Definitely some time in mid-2014, and for some combination of The Unfortunateness of Such Times, you seeming generally cool/chill and possibly a secret third thing but I might be thinking of someone else there.
We met at NineWorlds in about 2016 where we disagreed about Dragon Age but agreed about philosophy and I thought you were super cool so I followed you and the rest is history lmfao
bizarre but i don't actually remember when or why i first started following you on tumblr??? maybe it was the good dishonored posts?? or bloodborne??? idk but it was definitely years ago and i was definitely thinking "wow, that's some good posting right there"
I know it was before the "I'm gonna fuck Dracula / I fucked Dracula" post but not that long before, that's about how good my memory is on that point ^^
I might have it out of order but iirc:
first it was this old tweet from the Before Times,
then your work on destiny and dishonored,
now because looking forward to what's next 🙏
I think it was around the time you were live-tweeting your playthrough of dishonored 2, haha. was super happy to later learn you got to contribute to death of the outsider ✨
When X was suspended here in Brazil last year, I ditched that site for good and started to look for Destiny people over here. Saw you worked there and was pretty active on this platform. Easy follow.
- Five months ago on here
- Your sense of humour, despite (or maybe because) of setbacks
- Your portfolio
- Your willingness to engage in spite of your popularity
- Baking
I think I was following someone who worked on Destiny who retweeted you and I realized you worked on it too, more specifically you helped with Eris and it became clear that a lot of what I loved about her and her stories/appearances was your work
Years ago on twitter you made a funny post related to something medieval. I was mostly following queer/weird medievalists at the time. It was a happy accident you happened to be in games/narrative.
Probably a retweet from Tom F. or Robert B. regarding your participation or ideation of a story built for a Destiny piece. I enjoyed your work. As to when...idk, probably whenever your first stuff went live 🤷
I made this account with my name and face on it and started following people I followed in my silly fandom account so I didn't accidentally outed myself there
It was like 400 years ago on the bird app when you were working on your PhD. I couldn't even guess the specific post, but I'm sure it was some post/thread examining media and/or pointing out people using lit theory badly. I am a sucker for insightful criticism and shitposts, so here I still am.
iirc i followed you for your destiny shitposting back before you worked at bungie. it wasn't until later that i realized you were, like, a professional. these days i respect you a lot as one of my fav games writers but back then i just thought "oh rad, someone else who's deep in the drifteris mines"
Maybe like 4 or 5 years ago at this point?? On Twitter, after you commented on a fan art I did of Billie from Dishonored DOTO!! I was so blown away that anyone involved in the game's creation would interact with my art, and loved all the Juniper and chicken posts!
Timing? I think you were writing at arcane and posting about running shattered throne. And I followed cause what you had to say about games writing resonated deeply with me.
The 'Eido needs a girlfriend' post. I saw it, went 'yeah agreed,' then scrolled down to see the 'Eramis is her weird aunt' bit and decided to follow based off of that alone. Clicked on your blog, found out that you were a Bungie writer that did most of my favorite lore tabs, and been here since.
I don’t know if it was when I was doing Destiny fanart sequence stuff or talking about Dishonored and how it had a clear style and you popped in, and it was welcome and something I didn’t expect to happen.
Saw a few of your funny tweets on my feed, checked your account and was absolutely delighted by the medievalism and video game writing stuff.
This would be like a year before you began working on destiny stuff? Or i might be wrong.

So I guess the why is that I like following people who make rad shit!
Understood you were an incredible writer with great capability for rational emotionality
Hats off to you, always.
As someone determined to work in game narrative, I tend to follow accounts that are excellent examples of that.
Honestly, that's pretty much how I end up following most of the people I do.
I was glad to see you on here!
Literally followed for the lols.
I know It was well before 'Jack the Useless' ceded it to the Childlike Emperor, 'Musk the Unbearable,' and his horde of babbling Musklings.
I think it is as when someone retweeted some in-progress writing you had shared.
Or one of the awesome narrative designers I worked with at Splash reposted something and I hit that follow button :)
Oh also bread and cake! I believe I still have to share a recipe for chocolate cake using mayo instead of egg with you.
first it was this old tweet from the Before Times,
then your work on destiny and dishonored,
now because looking forward to what's next 🙏
- good posts

bc of DotO
Came for the narrative insights, stayed for the chickens and zingers.
This would be like a year before you began working on destiny stuff? Or i might be wrong.
