My odd hunch is that they introduce a new eeveelution via divergent evolution, or regional evolution. (so, something like a Dragon type eevee that went extinct after ZA, for example)

My hopes is that they release a new eeveelution in ZA and then just say it got extinct in the future. Preferably a dragon type.
