Hopefully they do not put 7kW chargers in 2hr timed and paid for parking spots. Nor use parking spaces that haven't been widened so only one car at a time can charge. Just a couple of real issues I hit every time I test an EV. Always remember this when the 75K figure is bandied about. - ThreadSky

Ensuring disabled access wouldn’t go amiss, can’t believe in this day and age and the billions spent on retrofitting the tube and older buildings, it’s not always factored in on the new infrastructure of EV charging.

It has been such a hamfisted and pathetic roll out. Virtually no thought other than "GET A CHARGER IN". No appreciation of the less abled, safety at night especially for women, ease of use, who needs what type of charger....etc

Why I get angry over the happy clapping about the 75k number.

Few places seem to have grasped chargers should be sized suitable for use case.
A hotel does not need one ultra rapid charger but a bank of 7kw for example.
Hopefully the penny will drop, but lots of money is being wasted putting the wrong chargers in the wrong places.

One rapid charger might be a thing, at such a place, if they try and set themselves up as meeting places for business people, but yes, not having to go out at 2am to move your car is clearly a better thing!

Also, I do get that supply constraints may hamper, but why say "max stay of 2hrs" for them?

And many people don’t/can’t conscientiously move their car when it’s done, if you’re in the middle of a meal, or at the cinema, (or sleeping) etc

Maybe we’ll get to utopia where every single parking space has a charger so you can endlessly graze electrons, in the meantime more thought is needed
