I’ve been doing this for…11 years now? 2020-2021 was an absolutely bizarre anomaly. I was regularly (multiple times a day) getting recruiter inbound for 300k+ jobs at fresh startups. Just bizarroland.

And to be clear: the tech jobs market feels tougher than ever before. There *has* been a massive drop in hiring since 2020-2021. New grad positions are tougher than before it feels.

biggest difference is that open positions get flooded by about an order of magnitude more candidates.
