This passed by 56%, yet the commissioner says that while the majority of Platte County residents voted for this, that’s only 30% of the total residents (non voters/minors).

By that logic, 58% of Missourians voted for Trump, but that’s only 28% of our population. I’m here to speak for the other 72%.

That makes sense. Here rural folks fill in the straight party option at the top of the ballot frequently. I think they probably have no idea who or what they’re voting for at least in some cases. The whipped up hate for democrats motivate them. I wish we could get rid of it.

They are trying to use a wording loophole. The ballot initiative used the word “authorizes” and not “requires”. They are trying to say this means they aren’t actually required to enact it. It just means they can if they want to. It’s all GOP BS. I hope their voters remember this next election
