JD Vance is encouraging the distress of farmers. He has a marketing/real estate corporation that purchases farms in financial trouble at pennies/dollar. Vance has a huge stake in expanding this-eliminating subsidies, destroying agencies that purchase from farmers(USAID), etc. China is part of it 2.
Wow, it wasn’t long before they started having their, FAFO moment. God, did we try to warn them! But since they voted for him after every thing he’s said and done, I’m fresh out of violins for them. 🎻
Oh! I know some folks that work with WISHH-World Initiative for Soy in Human Heath. Wondering how they’re doing? 😑 and another that gets funds from the USDA to do work in Cambodia.
It must be what the majority of Americans want, we don't need none of that Woke science stuff. Just reading writing and math. Science is the devils work. We are doomed as a nation
Pretty much the entire ag industry in the US is one big subsidy to farmers. It’s an entitlement. Without the US gov backed insurance none of them would be doing well. Not to mention the farmers on Medicare..I pointed that out to my republican farmer dad once…he did not like it lol
Crop insurance! I heard a rancher from S Dakota grassland area say his neighbor usually has a failing crop (soybeans) but gets bailed out every year. The land is not suitable for crops( little rain) but this corporate farmer gets more money from the government than they would selling the crops.
Not to mention the farmers getting aid from the Coronavirus Farm Assistance Program (CFAP) and the Pandemic Assistance Revenue Program (PARP) during the pandemic. I live in Indiana and I know plenty of farmers who took that money then all the sudden had new cars and houses.
Yep, my dad also took that money. Or how Trump screwed them in 2018 so he gave them all fat paychecks to win them back and then when Biden was elected he returned to the normal amount and they all had the audacity to say the government was “screwing them”. They are an extremely entitled bunch
I knew a surgeon who had a large amount of rural property. He figured out a way to “farm” it. He said it was farming welfare.
He left medicine. I guess it was a lucrative deal.
It's a common scam with tobacco. They under-seed, under fertilize and then claim a crop loss that's way more the actual amount of money spent on their 'crop'.
Yes! I know a multi-millionaire who sold the business, bought land and is now enjoying the tax benefits of being a "small independent farmer"
It's insane.
It is welfare. You not only get a minimum insured amount you receive no matter what, you get to write off like everything. I know farmers that have too much land, plant super late and just write it off as a loss and get paid. They write off snowmobiles, four wheelers, Denali SUVs.
They won't care. They will keep voting Republicans because a trans person two counties terrifies them more than a complete economic collapse by a NY billionaire real estate developer
I want to feel sorry because they were doing research that could help the world. But on the other hand, they're farmers probably Republicans and probably voted for the 🍊💩. #FAFO
was their campaign slogan "return of the blight"
and "eat the libs" because they will be actually starving and that hungry
OMG learn from history!!!!! crop failure would still kill 🤠
Diversity? Blegh. Much better to have exactly one strain of soybean, just one super good one so that each plant is super good and has the exact same biological weaknesses.
No matter what you think of farmers without them we do not have something to eat. This is a simple in your face reality about them. Those who complain about them and think they deserve to be shut down I hope you like starvation.
Get a story out there of a specific farmer hurt by this, those kinds of testimonials are so powerful. The message goes from abstract to real. We need to engage all the low info. voters and voters who see all the Ds and Rs as the same. They aren't, and these stories can dramatize this.
Welp these large farms are likely going to lose everything. Without intervention people with $$$ are going to swoop in to buy it up. Just another way to monopolize the market. As consumers we need to support small farms more than ever.
When the farms all go bankrupt, an oligarch will buy them for pennies on the dollar and exploit them ruthlessly due to the end of consumer/labor protections from business exploitation. This oligarch will pay a regular kickback to the Drumpf family.
NOT to mention the damage that the elimination of USAID will do to the American Farmer, the small guy anyway. The Corporate Farmers who've likely never even stepped foot on the soil they own, like Chuck Grassley, will be just fine.
You mean to tell me that those “elitist college educated” researchers are actually HELPING regular people? Are you saying republicans villainized education and research for their own gain!? So that they could cut research that helps people to fund their additional tax breaks for the ultra wealthy!?
Some smart person really needs to join all the dots here. And quickly. He’s ’flooding the zone’ so there are an awful lot of dots to join, but it’s crucial it’s done quickly.
Trump's China tariffs screwed over US soybean farmers in 2018. As a result S.America gained the China trade in soybeans by filling in the gap. US farmers never recovered from that, so now this?
China is now replacing the funds USaid took away from Africa.
Trump is killing America.
How many farmers bought the horse manure again and voted for president orange waterford ? They still are waiting for 2018 money from him. He's good at bamboozling. And they suck at judgement of character.
Farmers voted for Drumpf, now the chickens are coming home to roost. In addition, some are not getting the money they were promised for projects like irrigation, etc. FAFO
Most soybeans are used for animal feed… I think, in a good way, your comment is hilarious. Just pointing out the FAFO is like a really well done croissant, layers and layers and layers of sweet creamy fat.
You're spot on!
The majority of soy and 40% of corn grown in the USA is fed to farmed animals.
A major reason that animal agriculture is so resource intensive: you need to water, land, energy and other inputs like fertilizer to grow plants to feed to the animals we choose to eat.
Witnessed the gypsy moth infestation in update NY. No natural predators. No insecticide that would kill them but not harm beneficial insects animals. It was really quite grotesque
Gee, I wonder why:
Russia is considered a soybean supplier, ranking among the top global producers and exporters of soybeans, although not as large a supplier as countries like Brazil and the United States; in 2022, Russia was listed as the 8th largest soybean exporter globally.

We’re falling behind in so many ways.
Well they voted for their own demise 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
An image of a headline which reads:
Missouri soybean research project shuts down as Trump cuts off funding
As part of the project, Missouri has been doing research on ways to help farmers combat diseases that can decimate soybean crops.

Turns out feeding poor people in other countries was really farm subsidies in our country.
Not sure how the FARMERS forgot that little fact, but alas it seems they did.
He left medicine. I guess it was a lucrative deal.
It's insane.
Control the resource! And people will bend!
and "eat the libs" because they will be actually starving and that hungry

I don't feel sorry for them.
#AWGY?
He is going to kill us all.

"Please like my post" crap.
REPOST THE VIDEO.
THIS IS THE GOOD SIDE CALLING OUT THE EVIL.
They don’t care though. ‘Cause black people and trans people got “owned”.
MAGA hates handouts and vegetables.
