It’s important to note - Burlingame is admirable and he stood up to a bully…but he did not stop slavery and did not avoid a Civil War. Things escalated from that point.

I’m not cheering Schumer, but I recognize the bad vs bad choice. Let’s cut the infighting and focus.

I read this with interest today, having messaged both my senators to vote against both CR and cloture; as always, HCR presented some perspective. There really was no good vote: one path gave immediate permission for mass dismissals, the other gave more time for skullduggery. Scylla, or Charybdis.

My understanding is the CR has language that cedes budgetary power to Trump so the courts can no longer reinstate the government workers DOGE fires.

I’m so sick of national Dems criticizing us who live in red states while doing nothing to help get more Dems elected here. Every single candidate who has run against Andy Barr (ky6th) has gone to rural areas and small towns to involve Dems in their campaigns and we get nada from the DNC!
