I was raised a rural southern Baptist. I didn’t know what I didn’t know. When I went to college, and took a Black history class, my world changed and I couldn’t wait to teach the history that I had learned.

The insularity in which many live allows racism and other 'isms to flourish
If the history you read only makes you feel proud, you're not reading history, you're reading propaganda.
