It’s infuriating. I live in Texas along with THIRTY MILLION other people—how does it help if I forget my family & community obligations and traipse off to wherever? Somebody has to stand up. And I’d appreciate it if those people focused on voting rights & anti-gerrymandering laws instead.
My niece is moving to Austin from NYC. She likes the heat, her best friend is there and they have a 10k sq ft house costing just over rent for a 2 bdrm in Queens. They're both professionals & liberal. She said that her moving there is an asset to Texas politics because her vote will count.
Josh Hawley was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Once that asshole took office I left Missouri for a blue state. I made the right choice ... seeing what Missouri has elected since Hawley. It wasn't gonna get better soon.
Exactly. “You don’t like it, leave.” No fucker. I’m staying here. I didn’t choose to elect a Russian asset in the United States. You want to live under autocracy? You fucking leave and move to Russia.
I can't just leave North Carolina either. I've decided I'm going to stay here and fight for my grandchildren and their future as well as right now for all of us.
I felt the same way about Alabama, but I also understand people that have to leave due to toxic relationships. Especially when majority of family/friends have joined the cult.
I struggle with this. I'm a democrat in Ohio and I love my home and this state. I'm still hopeful I can live here and change it for the better, for future generations. But I'm also just so damn tired and scared for my children. My husband's family is all in Missouri, which is why I follow you!
Just tell them that that statement means you need to stay put and pester the fuck out of them by merely existing. Also you’re staying out of spite so they better be ready for more.
The “it’s your own fault” crowd really piss me off. EVERY American deserves to have the same “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness” EVERYWHERE. If that New Yorker is looking down on Davenport, they can kiss my ample Midwestern backside.
I was talking to somebody that was complaining about all the foreigners in the US. I reminded him that America is the melting pot and has been for hundreds of years.
I told him that if he didn't like living in the great melting pot, that maybe he should be the one to leave.
They’re like the annoying neighbor in the suburb loudly complaining to everyone about all the things that make up a suburb, kids, dogs, parties, etc, it’s just an apartment complex, get over yourself, you should have bought something out in the county ya whiny pissant.
Never mind that “just move” is an economic privilege that some find harder and harder to come by in a declining economy with surging housing, insurance, gas, and food prices.
Exactly! I had a former classmate and my sixth grade teacher who told me “nobody wants you here.” I said my family’s been here for seven generations now… how dare you tell me I can’t come home.
My friends and family who are still there feel the same. They’re that 40% that voted for Kamala. They tell me KC and St. Louis are blue and are sickened by some neighbors and friends but love their home, their land, their state.❤️
My family has been in Missouri since before it was a state. “I’m Missouri born and Missouri bred, and when I die, I’ll be Missouri dead.” The assholes can leave.
