😊
I love a bit of behind-the-scenes and why you do the pod.
Listening along to you chaps has enhanced my recent past experience of watching #Blakes7 Series A. I rather enjoy this mixed-media way of watching tellybox shows.
I was out in the Greenhouse watering some plants when that bit came on my 🎧 so I joined in out loud. The neighbours were probably wondering “what word?!”
PMSL! 🤣
Like yourselves, I might have to reevaluate some placements after considering some of the important events (e.g. TWB and SLD)
I wasn’t wild about oil refinery 🤖 scenes, but *everything* with Servalan is simply delicious 🤤
Therefore it was like getting a whole new SF TV show to watch once I got past the familiar, and thus a bit unbalanced.
For me Series A has four really stand-out characters – Blake, Jenna, Avon, Servalan – but that’s more than the others. Interested that you’ve just zeroed directly on Avon to begin with.
The Way Back
Project Avalon [my choice for ‘If you watch just one B7 to see if you might like it’]
Cygnus Alpha
Least:
Bounty
Mission to Destiny
Time Squad
I’d say even those weaker A episodes are just dull, rather than bad, but there are also fewer highs.
I can’t find the exact quotes, but you might be interested in two comments by Chris Boucher:
That there’s not a line Avon utters he didn’t have a hand in;
Though I think seeing him as selfless is usually harder!
