Their greed has been their own doom: after Endgame they spread among series, tons of films and aborted projects. And the quality of the products has really plunged down, outside very few exceptions.

Was this not the point tho? This is what I like about the MCU. I realize there’s a line to walk, so maybe he’s just saying they’ve strayed too far to one side, but the fact that everything is interconnected is what makes the MCU work, I wouldn’t want them to change that.

The solution to this is ridiculously easy. Write your movies self-contained and stop making Disney + shit. Homecoming and Black Panther introduced Spider-Man and Black Panther to the audience from scratch as if we never met them in Civil War.

Good.Part of the reason things like Star Wars and Marvel haven’t been doing so well isn’t merely that their outputs have been subpar. It’s that when there’s new content almost every month the specialness diminishes. Part of a successful franchise cycle is building audience anticipation and hunger.

I find myself creating my own canon of bad films and shows from the MCU that I’m not a fan of that still goes in line with the narratives without contradicting anything.

Example: my versions of Quantumania and Secret Invasion are fucking awesome.
