This is a good illustration of a massive problem we have. Only one party plays by the rules. Sadly, that party is the Republican Party. Because the only rules are to win and use the power you have. Republicans have known this for a while. Dems might figure this out some decade.

They got rid of the filibuster to roll back CA rules and increase poisonous air pollution so their corporate donors could make more money.

They did this by using a point of order to irrationally force the CRA to apply, which can’t be filibustered. That’s removing the filibuster…

I didn’t think reconciliation bills were subject to the filibuster already. That’s been one way Dems are disadvantaged. The things we want to do are not financial bills and subject to filibuster while all R want is cut taxes and they can do it by simple majority.

This was on a separate bill. They used a majority vote to force a bill gutting CA's clean air regulations under the CRA rules.
