Obviously, Duckworth is a vet with Senate confirmation voting power whose opinion on Hegseth should be taken seriously, but one that will fall on deaf ears among Senate Republicans — a mostly spineless group consisting of a few members who occasionally break with Trump, in increasingly futile ways.
