PubMed has sources from around the world, including England's BMJ. That said, given the cut in funding for all things science here in the US, it may be time to look towards other sources for research, e.g. https://europepmc.org

Nope. Just looked up a colleague from NIH. Recent paper and preprint are listed, only NIH funding.

I searched for mine which were wholly NIH funded they're there. Free fulltext PDF, just like pubmed had. I mention this because one of my papers was under paywall on Elsevier website, but free on PubMed, as it should be, given said public funding.
