Ok, from someone who's playing 4u after wilds. Old mh and new mh are entirely different games. But yeah monsters limping and running away is heartbreaking (the real monster is you blablabla)
OH DANGG that sucks cause i remember playing the demo for worlds i think?? and didnt have much fun with it but i've been actually enjoying 4u dang... wilds looks really cool so ill keep pondering it over for when it goes on sale but augh the littol monsters running away...
If that makes you feel better about the little monsters, you can capture most of them! In my headcannon they are placed in another environment where they can be happy, and not be a danger to the ecosystem.
wilds and 4u are very different games! the vibes is not the same...
i personally like the older ones better, but it's just taste, the newer formula definitely has its audience
mh wilds is closer to mh world than to mh4u.
with that being said, mh4u is one of my favouriteees, i want to go back :')
yeahhh i only played a little bit of the worlds demo and wasn't very into it but also probsbly cause i had no story to look forward to and everything felt so overwhelming as a first timer lol im kinda liking 4u as a quick gaming session kinda thing but theres still a lot going on (and not well-
yeah those games are not easy to get into bc of how little is explained without you having to be willing to read a 7 pages weapon manual buried in the menus :') (or alternatively, have a friend that already went through this introducing you to the mechanics)
if you feel like you are struggling to use the weapons efficiently i would recommend checking gaijinhunter's guides, they were very helpful when i started playing!
bc you don't see any damage numbers, and the monsters don't react to being hit, it can be hard knowing if you're dishing out dmg or not

New MH feel like a more immersive world. Monsters have more interactions between each other, and the game focuses more on what's fun, the hunts.
