I get that Dems (combined with GOP) abandoned the working class. Big example Ohio voted for Obama twice--12 pts Red & we've lost Sherrod Brown--champion of working class & saving VA hospital in my rural area.

But you didn't bring up Citizens United--how it forces politicians to prostitute themselves to the big donors. Sherrod's campaign was most expensive Senate race in US history. Trump/Musk/McConnell (the chump) through a kazillion at attack ads at Brown and propped up a used car dealer candidate

PS. I helped Dem Congressional candidate Samantha Meadows against MAGA Dave Taylor OH Dist2 had a ton of money fr Trump and crypto gang. On his website he had of photo of himself with an AR (or AK-47?--whatever) and on issue tab the dropdown only said "Crypto."

Samantha had absolutely no money but she made the exact same points that you did today. She would have been a terrific representative for this rural area where 50% are on Medicaid and probably same amount have semi-automatic rifles. Cincinnati & Athens biggest blue towns were gerrymandered out.

Also the fast food places around here (SE Ohio is a food wasteland--except Athens and Cincinnati) pay over the minimum wage (because of worker shortage) so it would have little effect on the solidly MAGA vote--because higher min wage to them implies "taxes."
