Bending Spoons's business model seems to be to take over useful software that's bleeding money and making it profitable (mostly by optimizing operations, including layoffs). How is Paper being enshittified?

The things that annoyed me today: 1. new UI clutter that tries to upsell to Evernote while obscuring my work; 2. app no longer launches if device is offline (making it hard for me to write my talk on the train); 3. app seems to randomly delete local data and re-download it from the server.

From the podcast I linked: they move systems onto their own infrastructure, automate handling of problems, focus on implementing features that users will pay for, etc.
As I mentioned, they also reduce expenses by laying off existing staff. Definitely no saints - but they are in it for the long haul.

Switch to ProCreate, it’s golden standard of drawing on iPad (although with a small learning curve, but nothing crazy)
