Apparently pointing out that Gabbard and Fetterman were dubbed "progressive" SOLELY due to their support for Bernie Sanders (despite actual progressives pointing out their HIGHLY PROBLEMATIC pasts) makes me a neo-con.

The story of him chasing an unarmed Black man with a gun was mostly discounted by progressives who I feel sure wouldn't have been as forgiving of another candidate.
that’s just the one I wish we knew better. Especially since the majority of the middle people actually agree on a lot, and we could have gotten a lot done if we had worked together.
Gabbard especially is so funny to me because when I first heard her mentioned way back when, it was by a closet racist/reactionary boomer friend who was raving about her. Like, finally a Democrat *he* could get behind, lol. So yeah, not sure who these people think they're fooling?
To be fair, it's a lot to expect average voters to know everyone's background from before they were well known. When Joe Lieberman was Al Gore's running mate, I didn't know he was basically a Republican posing as a Democrat. Found out later. He sponsored the bill creating Homeland Security and ICE.
Point to Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and Joe Kent and they will get offended even tho they bragged about how he appealed to people across the political spectrum.
Honestly my own house race is what woke me up I think to just how and why they were supporting him. And you know looking at what they have in common helps. Helps to know what the new center is.
I have no idea what you are talking about re: Gabbard, but Fetterman was not thought of as a Progressive due solely to supporting Sanders. That's absurd and sounds like an attempt to denigrate Sanders supporters.

Though apparently I was wrong about gabbard...
when I 1st heard of her, dunno, 2008 ? she was already highly problematic
Fetterman
not a PA resident, but iirc, at the time, he was supposed to be a working class sorta guy, and at least better then a republican senator ?
The extremes will fight while everyone in the middle just doesn’t feel represented at all.
I get the same initial reaction when I explain that a lot of this is happening b/c we
People *hate* hearing that it was humanity as a collective that fucked us and not just “opposing sides.” And- there’s a *lot* of other factors,
It’s what it’s.
