I like how Costner's character is a cheerfully murderous sociopath, and Kline's is a murderer who occasionally decides he likes a dog or a small barkeep lady. They're pleasingly not assembly line cowboy movie heroes.

There's a 4-minute MP3 of the main theme, available individually for $1.29 (it's part of a collection of themes from westerns) and I bought it and I have no regrets.
