If I’m not mistaken, he was among the 16-year-olds at the time, along with Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermits) and Alex Chilton (The Box Tops)

Chilton definitely was through puberty young and had the adult ( Eric Burdenesque to me) voice. He was in his mid teens when recording
