Yes, we renewed the same agreement until 2038, but with mutual access to waters and yearly review of the quantities.

But - fishing only taken out of context of WA so dates could be agreed - to enable them to start immediately? Everything else seems to be up for further discussions. Does that mean next year's EU-UK Summit?

The deadline for fish was next year. Now, with mutual access, will be available until 2038, but the quotas will be reviewed yearly.
Energy yearly.
Everything else will be discussed and we expect a report every 6 months about the progress made.
Or before if there is an agreement.

Next year is a review of how well WA+FTA+WD are implemented and if there is something wrong/not implemented. Spoiler, there are important rules UK do not follow yet. @vivamjm.bsky.social knows it better. 👍

I haven't seen any. But I think the point is, nothing of any worth will be agreed until we finally implement what we signed up for. It's a strong and principled stance by the EU that puts the pressure firmly back on Starmer.

Yes. Both of which are pragmatic wins for the EU. Bottom line is, the EU has stayed firm and rejected Starmer's attempts to cherry pick and divide. It have only agreed to what benefits it in its long-term strategies. The idea that this is somehow the start of a new era is vastly overrated.

I'm no expert, but Energy sharing, already implemented, was a weak spot for UK (we imported more energy yearly), after Russian invasion it become a weak spot for EU (we export more energy). the fact it's renewed yearly is considered a win for Starmer. I think it's a tie. 😎

Exactly. There's a Johnsonian level of spin going on in the UK right now. And a lot of Remainers are falling for it, because it's coming from Labour. If exactly the same things had been (not) done under the Tories, there'd be a lot more criticism.
