The majority of these are definitely "a merchant of ..." But not whoremonger, as far as I know, that's a john, not a pimp. Or am I mistaken?

I think it's closer to "a fan of" or "traffic in" than "a merchant of" but as you say, there just aren't that many example of monger out there. Or are we just "wordmongers?"

Look up the definition of wordmonger. I personally am a winemonger and phishmonger in most possible definitions of those terms
