Just picked up a new to me used lens from National Camera for my Z7II, the 24-200 zoom (exc cond). I plan to use it primarily for travel. We are heading to Iceland next month. Previously my longest lens for the Z7II was the 24-70 f/4.

Well, I might have sold this lens short. I was photographing a Westminster Town Hall Forum event at our church tonight so I thought I'd give this lens a tryout in our sanctuary, which is dark. Nikon Z7II, 24-200mm, 200mm, f/6.3, 1/60, ISO 8000.
I don’t think I’ll use it for shots of speakers at the pulpit though. I need faster shutter speeds for that to freeze the hand movements. I typically use 1/160. That would push my ISO up pretty high.
I’ve fine tuned my settings to get better AF in low light. Turn off Apply Settings to Live View, turn on Low Light AF, turn on AF Focus Assist Lamp, and use AF-S priority. Just learned that Low Light AF only works in AF-S. Previously I’d been using AF-C. Don’t know if any of these apply to the Z5.
i’m selling the z5 because the focus zoom feature is so horribly laggy. it’s something i use a lot. the z6 ii, z5 ii and zf don’t have this problem so i’m just not gonna fight it

i was really pleased with how smooth it is for being a kit zoom
