That’s a poor take, he did restructure his deal at one point which if I’m remembering correctly is why he has dead cap this year. Aside from that his contract really wasn’t that outlandish after a couple years comparatively to other high paid players.

Restructuring is not taking a pay cut, it almost always results in the player just getting more cash in hand sooner, cap hits later for the team. Its not a help the team thing at all

I don't think it was a restructure, it was an extension. But again, he wanted the payday more than the wins. Thats fine, go get paid. But don't be surprised when you go from a QB friendly coach like KOC to a defensive coach like Morris that you're not as coddled as you were.

The Vikings also made it very clear that they were going to draft a QB, cause thats part of why KOC was hired. Kirk didn't want to be here for that. And then it turned out Atlanta lied to him. But again, he has generational wealth, so I'm not shedding any tears about him getting booed

I don’t think anyone is shedding tears for him, but booing him was dumb. He’s far better than many a qbs MN has rostered & if you don’t agree, you’re likely not old enough to have suffered through some of the worst. He moved on, MN moved on, fans need to move on.

I maybe misremembering, but I believe it was essentially both a restructure with an extension. Regardless he was a good quarterback for years & statistically he was one of the best in franchise history unfortunately it didn’t equal a SB.
