I feel like the most interesting interpretation of the character comes from Goof Troop/A Goofy Movie, so honestly, I would like to see that version of Pete in a future Kingdom Hearts games. Of course, Max/PJ don't officially exist in the Nomuraverse so a time gap would need to happen

Yeah, Max doesn't exist in the Kingdom Hearts universe. ergo, he isn't the same Goofy. In KH, he's just the captain of the guard for the Magic Kingdom (no dead wife). Plus Pete has been hanging out with Malificent for a decade so no opportunity for him to start a family either.
