Depends on what you use it for. I used Subscribe & Save. I found replacement suppliers and created shopping lists in Make A List (1 month, 2, 3, & 6). For occasional purchs, I Google it using shopping function. It has helped lower my impulse buying. A smart company would start competing head on.

I am deeply entangled with Kindle and Audible. I was very ill for the last two years and bought tons of sick person supplies. But I did a hell of a lot of impulse buying--seeking that dopamine hit when something arrived.

I used Kindle and Audible too. Now I use Libby and Hoopla. One of them is tied to my local library (don’t remember which). I can usually find what we’re reading for book club ate one or the other.

I did look up Hoopla. A library system uses Kanopy for films. I am registered, but I have not yet downloaded the app to my TV because I don’t know how.

All of this is going to take some work, but now after talking to my friend, I feel more determined than ever to get away from Amazon

I have gone back to frequently visiting my library. It's less than a mile from my house, so very easy for me, but I also want to support my local libraries. If not, I have a Kindle-like device that I can't remember the name of. I'm trying to move away, but I think it'll take a while.

I've been boycotting both since the coup started. Meta is easier, although there are people I miss. Amazon is a virus that has spread across the entire world.

I'm old enough to have used the internet before it was opened up for commercial use. The re-regulation and de-commercialization is required if we intend to protect human culture from collapse. Which is why amazon, meta, google and others need to be public services.
